Biden speaks to Bennett, offers support amid terror wave

US President Joe Biden spoke by phone with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett earlier today to offer his condolences following the three shooting attacks in Israel that took the lives of 11 Israelis citizens in less than a week, the White House says.
Biden offered “all appropriate assistance” to Israel in the wake of the attacks, according to the US readout.
“The President emphasized that the United States stands firmly and resolutely with Israel in the face of this terrorist threat and all threats to the state of Israel,” the White House says.
It notes the two also spoke about “the importance of regional partnerships … in promoting security and improving the lives of people across the Middle East,” mentioning the Abraham Accords and the Negev Summit, which brought together US, Israeli and Arab foreign ministers in Israel earlier this week.
There is no immediate confirmation of the call from Israeli officials.
